Shaun needed some quick photos for his portfolio. There were taken in his front room, utilising the floral wallpaper there. One flash head was used to camera right with natural fill from the left (my second flash head stopped working as we started the shoot!).
Luke on a Sunny Sunday Afternoon

I took these photographs of my friend Luke on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the end of May. He wanted the shots for his own personal use, and they came out rather well.
After the shoot, Luke made Jamaican Jerk Chicken and we drank fizzy wine while the sun came down.

Studio shots with Charlotte

Here are some shots taken on John Clements’ studio lighting course at Calumet in Manchester today.
The course was interesting and gave a good overview of some useful lighting techniques. The model’s name is Charlotte:

Urban Portraits 2

This is the second set of photos utilising abandoned and run-down landscapes in the local area. Here, Kyle poses in an army style jumpsuit, bomber jacket and red jock. The photos were taken for his own portfolio.

Urban Portraits

I love the contrast between the vivid colours of the graffiti and dilapidated environment under the railway arches here; it provides an intriguing background for these portraits.
The arches are no longer accessible; apartments were built overlooking them and the developer didn’t think they’d help with sales. Photos taken in September 2005.
Men on White

Portraits taken against a plain white background are standard issue in studios everywhere. Here are some of my experiments with a man, a wall and some studio lighting.
Most of these photos are from 2005, before I moved the furniture around making it impossible to do this sort of photography at home.
